Leaf sheep, also known as Costasiella kuroshimae or ‘solar-powered sea slug’, are one of the most fascinating creatures which are able to indirectly perform photosynthesis via kleptoplasty. These leaf sheep graze on algae, keeping the chloroplasts (the structures within the algae’s cells that contain chlorophyll).
