A temple in Trichy in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu inaugurated a new bathing pool for its 33-year-old elephant named ‘Lakshmi’. The new facilities have been created at a cost of 5m rupees, which came from donor contributions, according to The Hindu newspaper.
