The Hungarian Dances are among Johannes Brahms’s most popular works. The original version was written for piano four hands, and later the dances have been rearranged and orchestrated various times. This concert was recorded at the New Year’s Eve Gala in Berlin, December 2011, with a festive and energetic program: the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle perform a variety of dances by Brahms, Dvořák, Strauss and Stravinsky live at the Philharmonie, Berlin.
