In a patent filed Jan. 1, an inventor named Rinard Ford described a new way to make head-up displays better for drivers.

"I wanted to create a simple way to secure and access sunglasses or eyeglasses while driving in the car," said an inventor, from Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., "so I invented the POCKET BELT PROTECTOR.
