The South Fork Fire broke out around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday near the Soldier Creek Wilderness in the Nebraska National Forest’s Pine Ridge Ranger District.
The South Fork Fire burning near Fort Robinson State Park is now 100% contained, holding at 39,696 acres, as crews continue repair work and assess post-fire risks ahead of possible thunderstorms.
